Reading Glasses Distribution
Worldwide in developing nations millions of people have uncorrected nearsightedness and farsightedness, severe enough to impair their work and 80percent of them could be helped with off-the-rack glasses. Poor eyesight seriously limits their education and employment prospects, as without the equivalent of reading glasses lots of skilled crafts become very difficult after the age of 40 or 45.
From 2012- 2013 Chosen Children has distributed over 350 reading glasses to people who have no access to vision care. Five clinics were held in the communities surrounding the Cafumpe Center, Gondola and Chimoio under the supervision of the local government officials. The clinics fostered goodwill around the AFICRIMO center at Cafumpe and the inexpensive reading glasses provided deserving seniors the ability to continue their reading and handicrafts.
