Today millions of people around the world are living on under $1.90 per day and tragically half of these people are children who have to endure the brutal impact of poverty. For vulnerable children, poverty means being deprived of the crucial needs in their lives such as food and clean water. Malnutrition in children affects physical and mental development and magnifies the effect of every disease, including malaria and measles.
Clean water is a basic human right, something that many children in the developing world lack. For children living in areas with no source of water, walking miles to fetch and carry heavy jars of water is a burdensome and necessary task. Unsafe water and poor sanitation kills 1.7 million people annually.
How we work
Emergency food aid during times of crisis and weather related emergencies.
Bi-monthly food aid for orphans living with elderly caregiver.
Provision of quality seeds and tools.
Education on clean water and hygiene
Before and after school nutritious meals for at risk children.
Teaching on improved agriculture practices to increase food production.
Drill boreholes and wells
Your Impact
Children in the village gather at the new bore hole well in their community to draw water. By improving access to clean water, the health of the community improved. Shorter time to fetch water meant the children were able to return to school and adults earn a living.
Emergency food aid was given to the children we sponsor at a school during a time of drought when families were struggling to afford the high price of commodities. Staples such as rice, maize and oil were distributed. Chosen Children also distributes food on a bi-monthly basis to select families with elderly caregivers looking after orphans.

Every day 80 children infected or affected by life threatening diseases are fed a nutritious meal before or after school, ensuring that they receive 1 daily meal to contribute to their overall wellbeing. Some of these children come from homes where the caregiver is gravely ill and cannot care for their daily needs.
In today’s world no child should be deprived of food and clean water. You can help us meet these needs.
