So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere.   Luke 6:9

In September this year we introduced a new verse by verse study of the Gospel of John in our bible study groups.  The number of weekly bible study groups has expanded to 6 in various communities around Chimoio.  Weekly over 100 men and women meet under trees, to study the Word.

In Mozambique, pastors who lead small congregations in remote villages do not necessarily have any theological training.  Anyone who can read the bible can take it upon themselves to become a pastor of a church.

Since we started this study many have given their lives to Christ, including much to our astonishment pastors!  We have women tell us that they joined the church because it was their belief that if gospel songs were sung at their funeral they will be able to go to heaven.  We are encouraged by the fruit we are seeing and praying for more open doors and opportunities to share the good news of the gospel.

Translation of this study is underway in Portuguese, Shona and the Sena languages, so that we can print and distribute it to the remote churches.   We also hope to start training pastors every week so that they can preach on the study at Sunday services.
